Chorelord (Events)

Branding and animation for Chorelord, a series of comedy events in Toronto. Hosted by Brandon Hackett, comedians compete to earn points for completing absurd ‘chores.’

The brief was to create an opening title sequence inspired by religious iconography. The client included the marketing materials for Fleabag season 2 as reference. I was also inspired by the artwork of Hieronymus Bosch and the opening sequences for Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

Collaged elements include the Peniarth Manuscripts and other illuminated manuscripts, the painting View of Lormes by Camille Corot, and modern stock photography from Adobe and Unsplash.

The logo is a modified version of the blackletter typeface Fleisch.

The branding package also included a scoreboard for use during the live events. The .MOGRT file allows for displaying point totals on the fly.
